- Interesting turn of events for the Iomega Zip drive...
-
- Just as I thought, more companies are jumping on the Zip bandwagon.
- Already you can or will be able to buy (Feb '96) Zip drives from Iomega,
- Reveal, and Epson. By the middle of the year, you should expect Zip drives
- from both Fuji and Maxell.
-
- Further, Iomega struck a deal with "MegaMedia" (a major intl. supplier of
- floppy disks) for Zip cartridges. Zip cartridges are expected to ship in
- _mass_ quantities soon, and at much reduced pricing.
-
- Later this year, you will probably be able to buy Zip cartridges from at
- least these suppliers: Sony, Epson, Fuji, Maxell, and Iomega.
-
- As I said, I think the Zip is well on its way to replacing the floppy
- drive, and Amiga Technologies could be one of the first (or last) to adopt
- the technology.
